Welcome to Varsha Yoga!

Firstly, thank you for checking out our site and see what it is that we offer!

Varsha Yoga offers fun flowing vinyasa yoga classes, restorative yoga classes, meditation and relaxation workshops, and retreats on the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Bali.

Vinyasa yoga is a branch of Hatha yoga. It
is a fluid style of yoga that focuses on connecting the breath to a flowing series of asanas or poses.

Restorative yoga is a relaxing practice where the poses are held for a few minutes each with the aid of cushions, bolsters blankets and other props.

Yoga offers many health benefits:
  • building strength
  • toning muscles
  • increasing flexibility
  • increasing mental focus and clarity
  • relief of stress and anxiety

Classes are fun and flowing with a focus on strengthening the body and calming the mind. Classes are suitable for all levels as I offer variations within the poses. I like to have fun in my classes and I want you to have fun too. Don't take anything too seriously, just relax and enjoy flow. All classes end with a short guided relaxation called savasana.

Show up a few minutes early so you can get settled in.
Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely, and kick off your shoes (yoga is practiced in bare feet). Bring a yoga mat, and water. There are a mats available if you don't have one.

Varsha is the Sanskrit word for rain or monsoon. Rain is cleansing, nourishing and relaxing, just like yoga. I want everyone to leave feeling relaxed and refreshed, like the stress and anxiety of the day has been washed away.

Teacher bio - Erin Horne

I am originally from Vancouver, Canada.  I came to Australia on a working holiday in 2006, where I met my husband.   We spent some time living in Vancouver and travelling around before returning to Australia.  We now live on the Sunshine Coast where Varsha Yoga is based.

Varsha Yoga was started out of my desire to share the practice of yoga with others.  Yoga has changed my life in so many positive ways and I am so grateful that I found it.  I started practicing yoga in 2008 after I injured my back while snowboarding.  It was also a stressful time in my relationship, as we were running out of visa options to remain in one country together.  I tried yoga to help heal my back as well as calm my mind.  I fell in love with it.  I never expected where it would take me.  Yoga has not only improved my physical strength, and flexibility, but has also improved my mental clarity, and eased anxiety.  Over the last few years yoga has positively changed my life, giving me the tools live a positive, healthy and successful life.

I started my Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training journey with Being Yoga on the Sunshine Coast in 2014.  I completed my first 200 hour training with them in 2014 and finished level two, 300 hour teacher training with Being Yoga in November 2016.  I have also done Roots and Evolution of Vinyasa training with the incredible Shiva Rea, and countless other workshops with amazing teachers from around the globe.  I am now a 500+ hour certified Vinyasa Yoga Teacher with well over a thousand teaching hours under my belt.  I am inspired to share what I know of this life changing practice with others.  I am also forever a student and will endeavour to continue my training so I will always have more to share.
"Give thanks for the rain in your life which waters the flowers of your soul."
